We bought this solid black horse as a two-year old from Freeland Thorsen. He never was advertised, but spent all his off breeding seasons under good cowboys such as Troy Perkins, Rawley Stanley and Pat Beard, working. Pretty enough to lead a parade, tough enough to pick up bucking horses a the NFR, fast enough to haze for bulldoggers and still sound. Solely on his record as a sire and working horse, some of the most astute judges of working horses in the world took the trouble to locate, purchase and establish him at the 6666's stallion station in Guthrie Texas. Since this was not the result of a high priced ad campaign, I consider this to be a high complement to the horse.
Probably the best test of genetic soundness in a horses' makeup is to closely linebreed. I have bred him to his daughters and bred sons to daughters without coming up with any disposition or conformational flaws. They just get better.
